About
Apéro is an Australian fashion label creating french-inspired, timeless pieces utilising natural materials. Delivering effortlessly chic fashion, Apéro pieces are designed with versatility and inclusive sizing whilst maintaining day to night practicality. At the heart of Apéro is their continuous commitment to giving back to the community by supporting charities empowering women and promoting kindness, joy, and mindfulness in its approach.
Sustainability Efforts
Each month, Apéro donate 5% of profits from all online sales to Women’s Community Shelters. This Australian-based charity provides refuge and practical help for women who are homeless or subject to domestic abuse.
In 2020 Apéro were excited to integrate with Future Neutral and offer this initiative to their customers as part of the checkout process on any Apéro item/s. Future Neutral allows customers to add carbon offset at the checkout, helping reduce their annual footprint, and taking climate action. This is done through donating a small percentage of their sale to certified, vetted, carbon offset projects that reduce, avoid or remove greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere.
All Apéro orders will now be packaged up and sent out in 100% compostable, re-usable, zero waste mailers from Hero Packaging. These 100% sustainable poly mailers are made from plant based products PLA and compostable materials such as corn starch that help reduce plastic waste and landfill contribution. Once received, customers can reuse these mailers, then when they’re ready cut them up and add them to their at home compost bin to break down within 3-4 months.
All Apéro pieces are designed in their Brisbane office. They manufacture out of Guangzhou, China. All Apéro factories have all undergone assessment and certification by Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) for fair trade approval. Sedex is one of the world’s leading ethical trade membership organisations, working with businesses to improve working conditions in global supply chains. They provide an online platform, tools and services to help businesses operate responsibly and sustainably, and to protect workers in producing ethically sourced clothes. Their auditing method includes full site tour and assessment of factories, documentation reviews, employee and management interviews, CAPR preparation and closing report / feedback.
Apéro’s preferred fabrics of choice are natural fibres - linen, tencel, cupro, rayon and cotton. While not all of their clothing is made up of 100% natural fibres, Apéro are constantly sourcing fabrics with sustainability in the forefront of their mind.
